Basics
I find it easiest (and have been told it’s preferred) to RP using /e or /me (emote).
For example: /me writes into her notepad, speaking quietly to herself, "And this is how you use emotes".
In general you use *these for emotes* (or nothing if using /e or /me), "quotes for speech" and (parenthesis for OOC).
Etiquette
This is not all ecompassing and may not be true for everyone, but these are the general rules I’ve gathered while RPing.

Reply all at once or give a clear indiciation that you’re going to continue sending a message/emote so the other person knows when to start typing a reply. Use an addon like Yapper to assist with sending longer messages at once.

Try to avoid using second-person pronouns like “…looks at you”, and use third-person such as “…looks at the Worgen”.
Final Thoughts
It’s normal to feel a bit shy about RP at first, the best way to get over that is to watch people RP then just dive in. We want the guild to be a place where people are comfortable learning. Remember it’s all about having fun, don’t over-think it!
